Particulate Matter Reduction in Residual Biomass Combustion

نویسندگان

چکیده

Counteracting emissions of particulate matter (PM) is an increasingly important goal in sustainable biomass combustion. This work includes a novel approach to investigate the PM emissions, originating from residual combustion, at different combustion conditions lab-scale grate-fired furnace and situ measurements by using on-line sensors. The interior design allows installation baffles suppress controlling residence time. Moreover, two-thermocouple method used measure true gas temperature, spatially resolved measurement developed study evolution concentration throughout for experimental thereby allowing accurate in-situ reactivity. Experimental results computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses are utilized current develop kinetic model reduction discrete particle (DPM) CFD analysis improve understanding temperature time distribution which difficult quantify experimentally. By combining real soot formed during information analyses, predictive PM10 successfully developed.

Particulate Matter Emission Factors for Biomass Combustion

Emission factor is a relative measure and can be used to estimate emissions from multiple sources of air pollution. For this reason, data from literature on particulate matter emission factors from different types of biomass were evaluated in this paper. Initially, the main sources of particles were described, as well as relevant concepts associated with particle measurements. In addition, arti...

Survey on Measurements and Emission Factors on Particulate Matter from Biomass Combustion in Iea Countries

Since biomass combustion is related to high emissions of particulate matter (PM), the International Energy Agency (IEA) Bioenergy Task 32 is promoting the implementation of technical measures for PM reduction. As a basis to set priorities and as a guideline for future regulations, emission factors from different types of combustion are of interest. The target of the present study is to collect ...

Disease relevant modifications of the methylome and transcriptome by particulate matter (PM2.5) from biomass combustion

Exposure to particulate matter (PM) is recognized as a major health hazard, but molecular responses are still insufficiently described. We analyzed the epigenetic impact of ambient PM2.5 from biomass combustion on the methylome of primary human bronchial epithelial BEAS-2B cells using the Illumina HumanMethylation450 BeadChip. The transcriptome was determined by the Affymetrix HG-U133 Plus 2.0 ...

Daily average exposures to respirable particulate matter from combustion of biomass fuels in rural households of southern India.

Indoor air pollution resulting from combustion of biomass fuels in rural households of developing countries is now recognized as a major contributor to the global burden of disease. Accurate estimation of health risks has been hampered by a paucity of quantitative exposure information. In this study we quantified exposures to respirable particulate matter from biomass-fuel combustion in 436 rur...
